Extensive scrimshaw: the word LIBERTY inscribed along one side, with a version of the Franklin JOIN or DIE woodcut inscribed around the circumference of the horn- a snake severed in 8 segments, above each section are the initials of a colony or group of colonies, with the New England colonies of Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Connecticut grouped together in one section labeled NE, followed by NY, NJ, P, M, V, NC, SC. Followed by the words DONT TREAD ON ME, all surrounded by 13 pinwheel stars, various detailing.
